100MW Utility-Scale Solar PV Farm Interconnect

Engineering Overview

This landmark clean energy project comprises a 100MW grid-tied photovoltaic power generation facility spanning over 350 acres. WIN-TEC ELECTRICAL delivered the complete balance-of-system (BOS) electromechanical engineering package, high-voltage stepping substation, and automated SCADA control interconnect.

The Challenge

Interconnecting 100MW fluctuating solar power to the national transmission grid required ultra-fast voltage regulation, reactive power compensation (STATCOM), and harmonic mitigation without causing grid instability during peak cloud transients.

The Engineering Solution

WIN-TEC engineered dual 33kV collector busbar switchboards with integrated active power curtailment and central dynamic VAR controllers. We implemented an automated SCADA control center featuring fiber-optic IEC 61850 communications to communicate real-time grid conditions with the National System Control Centre (NSCC).
